BAHRAINI SAILORS DETAINED IN QATAR RELEASED

MANAMA, Bahrain – Under directives from the Prime Minister, to care about citizens’ affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Qatar, and in coordination with the Court, communicated with the authorities concerned in Qatar, regarding the three detained sailors.

The efforts have resulted in their release, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry noted that, the directives were to accelerate all procedures, to release the three sailors, who had unintentionally entered the regional waters of Qatar, and were arrested by the Qatari authorities.

The ministry coordinated with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Qatar, to implement the directives and communicated, during the past few days, with the authorities concerned, for the release of the sailors.

It also communicated with the sailor’s families in the Kingdom. The ministry added that, the efforts culminated in the release of the sailors, who are on their way home now.

The ministry confirmed its commitment to implementing the directives of the Prime Minister, and to providing services to citizens abroad.

It praised the communication with the brothers concerned in Qatar, saying that, it confirms the strong relations between the two countries.
