Azercosmos agency to take part in IBC-2014

Azerbaijan’s Space Agency Azercosmos is set to introduce its services at the largest European exhibition and conference, International Broadcasting Convention, an organizer of the exhibition said.

IBC conference is dedicated to the technologies in the fields of television and radio broadcasting and will be held in Amsterdam on September 11-16.

At IBC-2014, about 1,000 companies will introduce their latest technologies and the most advanced ideas in the broadcast media.

Azercosmos will exhibit its services at stand No. 5.B06.

More than 1,300 companies from 130 countries around the world attend IBC conference and exhibition every year.

The organizers of the exhibition and conference offer not only new solutions to new problems but also carry out a number of programs and seminars on the latest trends in the television and telecommunications markets.

The exhibition is expected to host about 30,000 visitors from different countries. Antennas, audio and video cables, cameras, digital technology will also be put on display at the exhibition.

State-owned Space Agency Azercosmos, established in 2010, is the first satellite operator in Caucasus.

It was created to launch into orbit telecommunications satellites and manage and implement maintenance activities.

The agency aims to provide a basis for the formation and use of outer space for peaceful purposes and the use of space for commercial purposes.

Satellite operator of Azerbaijan provides services of digital television, data transmission, creation of VSAT multiservice networks via the first national telecommunications satellite Azerspace / Africasat-1a.

Azerspace-1satellite covers Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and North Africa, and offers digital broadcasting services, internet access, and data transmission.

It has also set up multiservice VSAT networks offering governmental communication services. Some 80 percent of the satellite’s resources are available for commercial purposes.

Azerspace is broadcasting over 80 TV and radio channels including Georgian, Turkish, Ukrainian, and South African TV channels.
