Azerbaijan, Moldova mull issues of cooperation in sports

Azerbaijan and Moldova have discussed prospects for cooperation in fields of youth and sports as Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov has met Moldovan counterpart Octavian Bodisteanu.

Rahimov hailed the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Moldova, AzerTag state news agency reported.

He highlighted the activities of the ministry, as well as the state attention to youth in the country. He also spoke of the ongoing preparatory work for the Baku 2015 First European Games.

The Moldovan minister praised Azerbaijan`s all-round development.

The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of youth and sports.

Prior to the meeting, the Moldovan delegation led by Octavian Bodisteanu visited the Alley of Honors to lay flowers at the tombs of national leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

They also visited the Alley of Martyrs to put flowers at the graves of Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity, and laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
