The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced the extension of the deadline on the requirement of the installation of tanker-tracking devices to enter sewage treatment plants until October 1, 2022.

Ashghal – in tweets on its official Twitter account – affirmed that permitting or renewing tanker permits without providing evidence of an effective tracking device that has been already installed and complies with standards will stop as of October 1, 2022.

This new requirement aims to track the movement of tankers and ensure that they commit to unloading in designated areas and they will not unload in restricted areas randomly. The requirement also aims to control the movement of tankers while the State of Qatar hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
