Arab media forum in Kuwait next May — official

KUWAIT, March 5 (KUNA) — The 13th Arab Media Forum will be held in Kuwait on May 1-2 under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah with the participation of regional and international figures, said an official Saturday.
Secretary General of the Forum Madi Al-Khamees said that the event will focus on several major media issues associated with the developments in the Arab region.
Some 16 sessions will be held during the event with several important figures delivering speeches on a variety of issues, said Al-Khamees, adding that a session encouraging dialogue with and amongst the youth will be on the agenda of the forum.
He noted that workshops, symposiums, and other activities will be held during the course of the forum with the major aim being the development of the Arab media sector.
The forum will present several awards and prizes to outstanding media personnel, said Al-Khamees, noting that prize for youth humanitarian initiatives will be handed out this year.
An exhibition is expected to be held on the sidelines of the forum, said the official. (end) gta
