Arab FMs endorse Egypt's candidate Ahmad Abul Ghait as Arab League SG

CAIRO, March 10 (KUNA) — Arab Foreign Ministers have endorsed Egypt’s former Foreign Minister Ahmad Abul Ghait as the next Arab League Secretary General, succeeding Nabil Al-Araby.
Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Khalifa, chairman of the meeting, said Al-Araby would hand over the post to Abul Ghait on July 1 to start his five-year term.
Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Thani registered reservation over Abul Ghait, but added that almost full consensus “prove the candidate was worthy of this consensus.” (pickup previous)
