Al Shaqab Racing’s TIGER TOUCH opens his scorecard at Fontainebleau

TIGER TOUCH (American Pharoah x Osaila), in the colors of owner-breeder Al Shaqab Racing, landed his first victory in the Prix Chateau Landon on at Fontainebleau on Tuesday, 29 September. The 3-year-old came into the race off a fourth-place against Stakes horses in a conditions race at Saint-Cloud on 31 August.

At Fontainebleau, ZARYA (Kamsin) set a moderate pace in the early stages, with TIGER TOUCH just in behind before dropping back to fourth position. The ground was declared as soft and when Stéphane Pasquier asked TIGER TOUCH, the Nicolas Clément-trained colt took his time to get into his stride. He then took the advantage with ease before holding off a strong finish from BOY DAVIER (Soul City). TIGER TOUCH won by a head.

TIGER TOUCH is a son of AMERICAN PHAROAH (Pioneerof The Nile), the American Triple Crown hero. He is the first runner of OSAILA (Danehill Dancer), winner of five races, including the Princess Margaret Stakes (Gr3) and the Nell Gwyn Stakes (Gr3). The third dam is the famous DETROIT (Riverman). After her Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Gr1) victory, she produced CARNEGIE (Sadler’s Wells), himself a winner of the best turf race in the world.
