Al Shaqab Racing’s TAJDID gets off the mark at Salisbury


Al Shaqab Racing’s homebred TAJDID (FR) (Toronado x Anew), having his fifth career outing and making his third appearance of the season, won the ANJ Steelstock Handicap, a 2,400m Class 6race for 3-Year-Olds rated 0-60 at Salisbury on Sunday, 25 April. The Richard Hannon Jnr-trained runner, ridden by Pat Dobbs, won cosily by 1¾ lengths at the main expense of the Denis Coakley-ridden and Charles Bishop-helmed BOBBY KENNEDY (GB) (Bobby’s Kitten x All Annalena). The Rod Millman-trained and Oisin Murphy -ridden GAVIN (GB) (Bated Breath x Under Milk Wood) was further 3¼-lengths behind in third.

It was TAJDID’s second appearance in handicap grade. Bred by Al Shaqab Racing, TAJDID is a son of the Qatari concern’s stallion TORONADO and the Juddmonte-bred mare ANEW (Oasis Dream). The latter is a sister to Gr2 winning TREAT GENTLY (Cape Cross).
