Al Shaqab Racing’s ARMOR shines on perfect debut at Doncaster

Al Shaqab Racing’s ARMOR (GB) (No Nay Never x Hestia) made a perfect debut as he won the Sky Sports Racing Virgin 535 EBF Maiden Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday, 24 April. The bay colt, trained by Richard Hannon, never seemed in danger in the five-furlong contest. He won comfortably, with Ryan Moore in the saddle, by a length in impressive style in front of EL CABALLO (GB) (Havana Gold x Showstoppa), who is trained by K. R. Burke and was ridden by Clifford Lee. The Michael Bell-trained and Rossa Ryan-ridden Caio Shark (IRE) (Kodi Bear x Liel) was  ¾-lengths behind in third.

Armor has been bought at the Arqana October Sale. Out of No Nay Never, he is from the family line of Native Khan, Wimb and Welcome Millenium. Richard Hannon always thought high of ARMOR and the promising colt could head next for Royal Ascot.
