Al-Amara Former member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Saadoun Al-Sayhoud, called on the government to remove the electricity file from corruption, internal and external political conflicts, and to introduce renewable energy projects.

Al-Sayhoud said in a press statement that the file of electric power carries with it a lot of political conflicts that prevent the provision of energy to the Iraqi people, who have tasted a lot from regional and international countries that want to weaken Iraq and return it to ancient times, as well as by some influential political forces that wreaked havoc on the land, turning the electricity file into a thorny and complex file that can only be solved by removing the scourge of corruption from the service ministries.”

He added, “all countries of the world, especially those that do not have energy sources, are today enjoying the production of electricity through renewable energy projects, such as generating it by giant fans or solar energy. Therefore, Iraq must invest in renewable energy projects, given that the Iraqi environment represented by high temperatures and wind speed is conducive to the success of such productive projects are financially and humanly inexpensive and environmentally friendly.”

He pointed out that “one of the most important foundations for building electric power projects in Iraq is, first, keeping it away from partisan, regional and international conflicts, and secondly, keeping it away from the influence of the corruption mafias that deliberately aborted the development, construction and development processes.”
