AL KHOR AT THE TOP IN SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE

DOHA: Al Khor was at the top of the Second Division League after they beat Al Shahaniya 4-1 during the third round. The win helped them to raise its tally of points to 9 points.

 

In the second match, Al Bidda defeated Al Waab 2-1 thus increasing its score by 6 points, while Al Waab’s balance stopped at one point.

 

On the second day of the third round, Al Kharaitiyat posted its first victory in the competition at the expense of Lusail (1-0) while an entertaining 1-1 draw took place at the top of the round between Muaither and Mesaimeer.

 

By the end of the third round matches, Al Khor is in the lead with 9 points compared to 7 for Muaither who is in the second. Al-Waab advanced to fourth place with 4 points and Al-Bidda fell to fifth place with three points with a goal difference against Al-Kharaitiyat sixth with the same balance while Lusail and Al-Shahaniya remained with one point (in seventh and eighth places respectively).

 

In the top scorers list, Bruno is the top scorer with 4 goals, compared to 3 for Alaeddin Agray from Muaither and Ahmed Hassan Al-Mohannadi from Al-Khor in second place. There are 20 players with one goal.

 

The fourth round matches will start next Friday with the matches of Muaither, Al Khor, Al Shahaniya and Mesaimeer, at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium in Qatar Club, and Saud bin Abdul Rahman at Al Wakra Club. It is seven in the evening.

 

In the first clash of next week’s action, Al Khor will try continue its victories and move away from the lead and widen the difference between them and Muaither, the current runners-up, who will seek to regain victories after their draw with Mesaimeer.

 

In the second confrontation, Al Shahaniya will be looking forward to achieving their first victory and restoring confidence after dropping in the standings by one point. Meanwhile Mesaimeer will be aiming to catch up with the leaders in their next clash.

 

Al Waab and Al Kharaitiyat will be aiming to move forward in the standings especially Al-Kharaitiyat who are struggling for points.
