Al-Jarwan denounces Israel's “flagrant” violations against Palestinians

CAIRO, June 2 (KUNA) — President of the Arab Parliament (PA) Ahmed Mohamed Al-Jarwan on Thursday denounced Israel’s overt violations against the Palestinian people, lambasting the “international community’s silence toward these crimes.” The events and developments in the occupied Arab territories in Palestine top PA priorities regarding human rights, Al-Jarwan told a conference on ‘Arab human rights mechanisms and Arab national security.
This is a major topic relevant to the Arab national security, he added at the event co-organized by the AP and the Arab Federation for Human Rights.
According to Al-Jarwan, the colossal security and internal as well as external challenges the Arab World is countering on all levels, topped with terrorism, “make it inevitable for all of us to work seriously and sincerely for the security of our nations, communities and peoples.” The AP, as a face of practicing democracy in the Arab World, is of the view that consolidating principles of human rights and activating their mechanisms, lays the base for preserving the security, safety and stability of our nations, as well as building solid societies capable of withstanding challenges,” he said.
For his part, Assistant Arab League Secretary-General and head of the Arab national security affairs sector ambassador Khalil Alzawadi warned of suspicions raised against certain Arab countries on human rights.
This is likely to cause harm to these countries, in addition to the national security and safety, consequently affecting the Arab national security.
He called for full coordination among the League’s member states in the international human rights events. (end) ms.rg.msa
