Al Ahram celebrates centennial of Sheikh Zayed in Cairo.

Under the patronage of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of Egypt, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, , Al Ahram Company organized, in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Cairo, a major celebration of the centennial of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founder of the UAE.

The celebration, titled, “Zayed in the Hearts of Egyptians,” was attended by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, and many ministers, Arab ambassadors, leading writers and cultured people, as well as Egyptian and Emirati public figures.

A ten-minute documentary, titled, “Zayed in the Hearts of Egyptians,” directed by Dr. Hisham Gamal, was shown during the event, which addressed the journey of Sheikh Zayed, the Founding Father of the UAE, and the rise of the country.

Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, gave a speech that expressed his pride at participating in the celebration of the centennial of Sheikh Zayed and his many Arab, regional and international accomplishments, including the establishment of the UAE. He added that the UAE is a successful regional model of a modern country, which is not without its crises and challenges.

Eng. Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, said that Sheikh Zayed saw that Egypt’s stability and strength is also the stability and strength of the Arab Nation, and Sheikh Zayed loved the Egyptian leadership and the Egyptian people.

He added that the love of Egyptians for Sheikh Zayed can be witnessed around Egypt, which is reflected by the major celebration organized by Al Ahram that expresses the stature of Sheikh Zayed in the hearts of all Egyptians.

After the end of the launch, an expanded session of the centennial, titled, “The Egyptian-Emirati Relations Model,” began, which was conducted by Omar Marwan, Egyptian Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.
