ADEC concludes scholarship tests and begins interviewing students

WAM ABU DHABI, 23rd July, 2013 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) has conducted tests for high achieving Emirati G12 graduates and equivalent applicants wishing to receive scholarships.

The successful students will be interviewed this week for ADEC Scholarship Programme, which is open to G12 Emirati graduates who have scored 85% and above in literary and scientific streams.

Current university students who have completed 30 credit hours while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and passed both the test and interview are also welcome to apply to receive scholarships.

Dr. Issa Al Matroushi, ADEC’s Division Manager of Guidance and Scholarships, said, “ADEC Scholarship Programme aims to provide human capital necessary for meeting labor market requirements in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Top performers are granted scholarships to honor their dedicated efforts and to encourage them to continue to seek excellence.” “Our prudent leadership is supporting learners with all means in order to ensure enhanced academic performance. The scholarship programme allows students the chance to study in the best higher education institutions in UAE and abroad. In addition, scholars are offered internship opportunities and jobs upon graduation,” he pointed out.

Currently, ADEC is interviewing applicants who passed the tests as scheduled. The list of admitted scholars will be announced prior to the beginning of the Academic Year 2013/2014.

ADEC is offering scholarships in the following disciplines: Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Medicine, Medical Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Labs, Dentistry, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Museum Studies, Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Math, Geology and Biology).
