8 strikes in Syria, 14 in Iraq target IS — coalition

WASHINGTON, June 6 (KUNA) — Coalition military forces continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS), conducting eight strikes in Syria and 14 in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Monday. In Syria near Al Shadaddi, one strike destroyed two IS excavators. Near Ar Raqqah, one strike destroyed an IS work-over rig and an IS crane, and close to Manbij, four strikes struck four separate IS tactical units and destroyed an IS fighting position, three IS vehicles, an IS bed-down location and an IS anti-air artillery piece.
Near Mar’a, two strikes struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed an IS fighting position. Nearby Albu Hayat, two strikes struck an IS training facility and destroyed an IS tactical vehicle.
Four strikes struck two separate IS tactical units and destroyed seven IS fighting positions, an IS vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) factory, two IS VBIEDs, an IS warehouse and an IS tunnel entrance, and denied IS access to terrain, near Fallujah.
Meanwhile, one strike struck an IS tactical unit near Habbaniyah. Near Haditha, one strike destroyed an IS artillery piece, an IS ammunition cache and an IS mortar system, it said.
Other strikes in other locations destroyed two ISIL assembly areas, three IS mortar systems, an IS staging facility. One air attack suppressed an IS mortar position, and near Tal Afar, one strike destroyed an IS front-end loader.(end) rm.rk
