6th Qatar National Arabian Peninsula Horse Show for Individual Owners gets underway


The 6th Qatar National Arabian Peninsula Horse Show for Individual Owners opened to a huge response at the Longines Indoor Arena at Al Shaqab, Member of Qatar Foundation, on Monday, 5 April.


The first day of the two-day event saw participation of 117 horses in the qualifying classes for yearling, 2yo and 3yo fillies, and yearling 2yo and 3yo colts. On Tuesday, mares and stallions will take to the arena in six qualifying classes before the horse show concludes with six championship rounds.


On Monday, the day began with Al Sraiya Stud MAYHOOLAH ALSRAIYA winning Class 1A for Yearling Fillies with 90.90 points. Ahmed Sultan Al Ghanem’s G.A AMIRA (90.60) and Mohamed Jassim Al Kuwari’s BALQEES AL ARAB (90.40) finished second and third respectively. Winners of the round were awarded by Saad Ali Al Kubaisi, Deputy Head of QREC Arabian Horse Show Section.


In Class 1B for Yearling Fillies, Nasser Abdulla Al Mansouri’s DHUHA AL WAAB amassed 91.50 points for her victory in front of Ghanim Mohammed Al Khayareen’s SHAIKHA ALSHWA (90.80) and Jathab Arabians’ DARINE JATHAB (90.00). Omran Mohammed Darwish, QREC PR & External Communication Director, crowned the winners of this class.


Class 2 for 2yo Fillies saw Mesfer Mohammed Mesfer Al Hajri’s AYDA UMM ALUDHAM take the top spot after she impressed the judges enough to earn 90.60 points, while Al Asayel Stud’s RAMA AL WAAB (90.40) and Abdulla Jassim Al Buainain’s FARHA AINAIN (90.00) completed the top three. Hassan Abdulla Al Mannai, Head of QREC Arabian Horse Show Section, crowned the winners of the round.


Al Jaham Stud’s BEDAYAT IBN SALAMAH (91.00) topped Class 3 for 3yo Fillies while Al Sraiya Stud’s RAYANA ALSRAIYA (90.80) and Thani Ali Al Malki’s THURAYA SHARQ (90.40) too booked their places in the championship round. Saad Ali Al Kubaisi, Deputy Head of QREC Arabian Horse Show Section, presented the awards to the winners.


Among the colts, the first class, Class 4A for Yearling Colts, was topped by Nasser Mohammed Al Hajri’s TURKY UMM ALUDHAM with 90.20 points in the kitty. Al Nawasi Stud’s NOUR EDDIN AL NAWASI earned 90.10 points for his second place finish in front of Abdulaziz Hamdan Al Ahmad’s SHAGRAN AL HAMDAN (89.90). Winners of the class were crowned by Saif Al Hajri, El Abrqah Stud Owner.


Ebrahim Bin Yousef Al Romaihi’s MUTABAHI AL WAAB won the qualifying Class 4B for Yearling Colts after amassing 92.30 points from the judges. Nasser Abdulla Al Mansouri’s EGAAB AL HAZM and Nasser Al Kuwari’s AK NASSER settled for second and third with 90.10 and 89.80 points respectively. The winners were awarded by Ahmed Nasser Al Malki, Asayle Juhaina Stud Owner.


Mohamed Jassim Al Kuwari’s AUF AL SHAQAB took the win in the Class 5 for 2yo Colts with 91.70 points, while Ali Saleh Al Marri’s HADBAN AL FURAT (91.50) and Saud Al kuwari’s SHAQRAN ALASHWA (90.90) completed the top three. Ali Issa Al Balooshi, Al Markhiya Stud Owner, awarded the winners of the class.


In the final class of the day, Class 6 for 3yo Colts, Al Aqeed Stud’s SRDAR AL SHAQAB won with 91.40 points while Jathan Arabians’ LAHEEB JATHAB finished runner up with 90.20 points and Alqassar Stud’s SAHAB ALNOOF was third with 89.80 points. Nasser Al Mansouri, Al Hazm Stud Owner, awarded the winners.


Show Horse Auction on Tuesday


The End of Season Auction for Purebred Arabian Show Horses will be held on Tuesday, 6 April at 8:30 pm at the Longines Indoor Arena of Al Shaqab. Earlier on the day, the ingress time for lots will be at 10 am while the inspection of lots will take place at 3:30 pm. In line with the precautionary measures applicable in all events, attendance will be limited to bidders and owners of lots.
