Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Falasi, Director of Public Relations Department, participated in the meeting on 2021 Qatar National Day slogan, ?Ancestral Meadows: A Matter of Trust?. The meeting was organized by the National Day celebrations organizing Committee at Al Wajba Castle on Saturday evening, 9 October.

At the beginning of his speech, Mr. Al Falasi stressed that choosing ?Ancestral Meadows: A Matter of Trust?, is significant support to the efforts and projects undertaken by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) to preserve our Qatari environment.
Then, he reviewed the most important projects and initiatives launched by MME, represented by the Environmental Affairs Sector in relation to protecting the terrestrial and marine environment. The Ministry is working to implement more than 52 initiatives covering fields of environmental protection, development and sustainability, including the initiative ?Plant a million trees?, launched in 2019 during the 8th International Agricultural Exhibition and the First International Environmental Exhibition, as contribution to mitigating the effects of climate change, for which Qatar gives great attention. He noted that the initiative has so far succeeded in planting more than half a million seedlings and MME seeks to achieve the plant one million trees goal before 2022 World Cup.
