27 more airstrikes target IS in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, June 16 (KUNA) — The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 27 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq on Wednesday, the Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report, on Thursday.
In Syria, seven airstrikes targeted the groupآ’s facilities and equipment near Abu Kmal and Manbij, the report showed.
In Iraq, 20 airstrikes targeted IS facilities and equipment near Al Baghdadi, Al Huwayjah, Bayji, Fallujah, Haidtha, Kisik, Mosul, Qayyarah, Ramadi and Sultan Abdallah, the report said.
The Coalition maintained that a single airstrike “means one or more kinetic events that occur in roughly the same geographic location to produce a single, sometimes cumulative effect for that location,” as indicated in the report. (end) ak.rk
