26 more airstrikes target IS in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, June 15 (KUNA) — The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 26 airstrikes against the group in Syria and Iraq on Tuesday, the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report, on Wednesday.
In Syria, six airstrikes hit IS facilities near Manbij, the report showed.
Meanwhile in Iraq, 20 airstrikes hit IS facilities near Al Baghdadi, Bashir, Fallujah, Mosul, Qayyarah, Ramadi, Sultan Abdullah, and Tal Afar. The US maintains that “having a single aircraft deliver a single weapon against a lone [IS] vehicle is one strike, but so is multiple aircraft delivering dozens of weapons against a group of buildings and vehicles and weapon systems in a compound,” if that compound is then rendered useless.
