13 strikes in Syria, 18 in Iraq target IS – coalition

WASHINGTON, June 11 (KUNA) — Coalition military forces continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS), conducting 13 strikes in Syria and 18 in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Saturday.
In Syria near Manbij, eight strikes struck seven separate IS tactical units and destroyed four IS fighting positions and an IS vehicle, the announcement said.
Near Mar’a, five strikes struck five separate IS tactical units and destroyed four IS fighting positions, an IS tactical vehicle and two IS vehicles, it said.
In Iraq near Al Baghdadi, two strikes destroyed two IS artillery pieces and an IS front-end loader, it said.
Near Fallujah, two strikes struck a large IS tactical unit and destroyed nine IS fighting positions, two IS recoilless rifles, three IS light machine guns, two IS heavy machine guns and an IS anti-air artillery piece, and denied IS access to terrain, the statement said.
Near Habbaniyah, two strikes struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed an IS staging area, an IS command-and-control node and two IS storage areas, and denied IS access to terrain, it said.
Near Haditha, one strike destroyed an IS rocket cache, it said.
Near Kisik, one strike struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed an IS supply cache and an IS vehicle, the statement said.
Near Mosul, three strikes struck two IS tactical units and destroyed an IS fighting position, three IS assembly areas, an IS vehicle-borne improvised explosive device and an IS heavy machine gun, and denied IS access to terrain, it said.
Near Qayyarah, seven strikes struck a large IS tactical unit, five IS communication sites, an IS recruitment facility and an IS bed-down location; destroyed four IS assembly areas, an IS vehicle, six IS rocket rails and an IS mortar position; and suppressed a separate IS mortar position, the statement said.
