10,000 displaced Philippines battle for life under harsh conditions

ZAMBOANGA (CIHAN)- More than 10,000 people, who were placed at refugee camps in Philippines’ Zamboanga city due to clashes between security forces and Moro National Liberation Front, struggle for life under harsh conditions.

Suffering from food shortage and health problems, people cannot return to their homes which were destroyed during the clashes ongoing for a year.

Speaking to Cihan news agency, a displaced woman said they encounter both food shortage and various health problems in the camps and government does not take care of them enough.

According to health officials stated that around 100 people have died since last September due to illnesses mostly diarrhea and pneumonia.
