10 strikes in Syria, 15 in Iraq target IS — coalition

WASHINGTON, June 8 (KUNA) — Coalition military forces continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS), conducting 10 strikes in Syria and 15 in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Wednesday. In Syria near Al-Raqqah, two strikes destroyed an IS crane and an IS front-end loader, the announcement said.
Near Manbij, eight strikes struck five separate IS tactical units and destroyed three IS vehicles and an IS-used bridge, it said. In Iraq near Fallujah, three strikes struck two separate IS tactical units and destroyed an IS fighting position, an IS vehicle, an IS front-end loader, an IS weapons cache and an IS heavy machine gun, and denied IS access to terrain, the statement said. Near Habbaniyah, two strikes destroyed two IS fighting positions and an IS staging area, and denied IS access to terrain, it said.
Near Haditha, two strikes destroyed an IS vehicle, an IS staging area and an IS artillery piece, it said.
Near Mosul, two strikes struck two separate IS tactical units and destroyed an IS fighting position, an IS vehicle and an IS command-and-control node, the statement said. Near Qayyarah, two strikes struck an IS staging area and an IS headquarters, it said.
Near Ramadi, one strike damaged an IS tactical vehicle, it said.
Near Rawah, one strike struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed an IS vehicle, the statement said.
Near Tal Afar, two strikes struck an IS modular oil refinery and destroyed an IS supply cache, it said. (end) rm.ajs
