YPG, Free Syrian Army seize Tal Abyad from ISIL

SANLIURFA: Syrian border town of Tal Abyad which was under control of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) was captured by the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Free Syrian Army and hosted their own flag over the town on Monday.

Tal Abyad was seized by the ISIL in June 2014. After seizing the town, militants planted flags in many part of the city. The militants held a demonstration near Turkish border with flags. Syrian people who took shelter in Turkish border town of Akcakale shouted slogans in favor of Free Syrian Army after the incident.

Meanwhile, Turkish security forces tightened security measures along the border.
