World’s first horseback orienteering competition held in Turkey’s Cappadocia

NEVSEHIR: A horseback orienteering competition was held by Turkey Orienteering Federation in Cappadocia, located in Turkish central province of Nevsehir.

Fourth stage of orienteering competition kicked off Goreme town which is popular with its fairy chimneys and carved churches. A total of 930 athletes from Italy, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey joined the competition.

Head of the federation Tekin Colakoglu stated that it took two years to organize such an event, which is a first in the world.
