Workers go on strike, halting in automobile production in western Turkey

BURSA: Around 1,500 workers went on strike over wage rise demand at Renault’s factory in the western province of Bursa, which halted automobile production in the factory on Friday.

The workers did not work at the shift which began at midnight during which 400 automobiles are produced.

The workers, who complained about their low salaries, demanded an executive of the factory show up and deliver a statement, as they could not find an interlocuter for a month to hear their about their problems.

After the shift, the workers shouted slogans against factory management and union they resigned. The protest has been ongoing for three hours.
