Vice principal beats six school girls, two taken to hospital

MERSIN: A female vice principal at a secondary school reportedly locked six girl students in a room and beat them severely, which left two hospitalized in Turkish southern province of Mersin on Friday.

According to claims, 12-year-old six students made a joke their physical education teacher. When the teacher complained about the students to the vice principal, she called them to her room. The woman locked door of the room and beat the girls severely. An ambulance was called to the hospital when two of the students had fainted.

Arriving at the school, the parents reacted to the school administration about the incident. The vice principal was taken to the police station as the parents filed complaint about her.

Mersin Provincial Directorate for National Education launched an investigation into the incident.
