US embassy opens its first Maker Space at Baku

Baku: The United States Embassy in Azerbaijan is happy to announce the opening of its first Maker Space at the Baku American Center of Azerbaijan University of Languages on December 4, 2015, the embassy told APA.

The Maker Space is a scientific lab that provides technology, manufacturing equipment and educational opportunities to the public. After the launch, it will open its doors to schoolchildren and science, technology, engineering and math students as well as all interested in innovations.

The Maker Space staff will organize the weekly workshops on the use of 3D printers, 3D scanners, modelling, robotics, Arduino and 3D Doodler pens. The Maker Space also plans to provide trainings to teachers and mentors on the use of equipment and technology.

The Maker Space will be co-located with the Baku American Center at the Azerbaijan University of Language (134 R. Behbudov Str., 1st floor)
