UPDATE -Influx of Syrian refugees into Turkey continues

SANLIURFA: After Turkish security forces opened border gates on Sunday to Syrian refugees fleeing battle between the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and Kurdish militants in Tal Abyad, some 5,000 refugees waiting to be accepted enter the country entered Turkey on Monday.

After being checked by the officers, the refugees crossed Turkey. The refugees had flocked towards a Turkish-Syrian border crossing as Syrian Kurds closed in on the town of Tel Abyad, which is held by ISIL — the only route linking Turkey with the ISIL militants’ stronghold of Raqqa.

The Prime Ministry’s Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) and gendarmerie distributed water to the Syrians who seemed to quite tired. Sick refugees were taken to the shelters by the AFAD.
