UAE’s Independence Day celebrated in Baku

The United Arab Emirates embassy in Azerbaijan has organized an official reception on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day on December 2.

State officials, MPs, ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Baku got together to celebrate the holiday.

UAE’s Ambassador Mohamad Ahmed Hamil Al-Qubaisi spoke about the history of the country’s Independence Day.

He said that the ties between Azerbaijan and the UAE are based on mutual respect, brotherhood, common history, particularly Islamic heritage.

The ambassador praised economic cooperation between the two countries and expressed confidence that Azerbaijani-UAE bonds would further develop.

Azerbaijan` s Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev, in turn, congratulated the UAE people on behalf of Azerbaijani government.

Mammadguliyev applauded political ties between the two countries. He said the activity of the Azerbaijani-UAE Intergovernmental Commission, as well as improvement of the business relations between entrepreneurs of both countries, events, exhibitions arranging for establishment of new partner bonds were vivid sample of development of economic cooperation.

Azerbaijan and UAE enjoy fruitful cooperation in various fields and their mutual relations are developing both in the political, economic and cultural fields with ascending line. The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992.

The Azerbaijan State Customs Committee statistics show that in January-September 2015 the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $46.78 million, $42.2 million of which fell on import to Azerbaijan.

Starting November 10, citizens of the United Arab Emirates have got an opportunity to visit Azerbaijan on a simplified procedure.

Emiratis can obtain entry visa upon arrival, valid for 30 days’ stay, at any international airport in Azerbaijan.
