Two die, eight injured at flash flood in canyon in western Turkey

MUILA (CIHAN)- Two people were killed and eight were injured as a result of a flash flood which hit the SaklIkent Canyon in the western province of MuIla on Sunday evening.

Heavy rain which started in the evening led to a flash flood in world famous SaklIkent Canyon, which receives hundreds of thousands foreign and domestic tourists every year. 46 tourists were trapped in the canyon during the flood. Local people and search and rescue teams rushed to the scene to save them.

At the end of the flood, two people were found dead eight people were injured and taken to the Fethiye State Hospital.

Eye witnesses told Cihan news agency that the incident happened so suddenly.
