Turkish Journalist Baransu sent to Istanbul court for arrest

ISTANBUL: Journalist Mehmet Baransu was sent to court with a demand for his arrest after detained by the security forces on early Monday following an order by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

After detention, Baransu was taken to the Haseki Training and Research Hospital for medical check. Speaking to the reporters, he said “I had established and organization on my own. We will see,”

On Saturday, anti-terror police conducted a search at his home for almost 12 hours, seizing a number of documents.
