Turkey’s consumer confidence drops to 6-year low before elections

The Turkish consumer confidence index fell to 64.29 points in May, a six-year low, figures released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat) on Thursday showed, highlighting the pressures on the economy weeks before the parliamentary election.
This is the lowest figure since March 2009.
The index dropped 1.6 percent from 64.29 points in May, which was a decline from 65.35 points in April.
