‘Zenne’ co-directors’ new film set for 2015 release“ekmeceler” (Drawers), a new film by the co-directors of the much-talked-about 2012 Turkish film “Zenne” (Zenne Dancer), will hit Turkish theaters in 2015, the movie’s publicist announced in a press release on Monday.Directors Caner Alper and Mehmet Binay’s “ekmeceler” tackles the subject of female sexuality through the story of a woman who suffers from physical and mental injuries as a result of her parents’ complexes.

The first scenes of the film were recently shared on social mediaInspired by real events and written by Alper, the film was shot in nine weeks in Istanbul and the northwestern city of anakkale. The post-production of “ekmeceler” is expected to be completed in six months however, the exact release date has yet to be announced.

The film is expected to premiere at one of Turkey’s film festivals during the upcoming season.Starring Ece Dizdar, Tilbe Saran, Taner Birsel and Nilufer AIkalIn in the leading roles, the film starts to reveal the secrets buried deep in Deniz’s (Dizdar) soul when she is taken to a hospital on the night of her 32nd birthday and journeys back over the last 25 years.

Alper and Binay made their debut with “Zenne,” based on the true story of Ahmet YIldIz, the first victim of a gay “honor killing” in Turkey. The film collected nearly 30 awards at both local and foreign film festivals.
