Terrence Malick, Paul Thomas Anderson films set for Istanbul showingandldquoKnight of Cups,andrdquo director Terrence Malickand#39s newest effort that premiered at Februaryand#39s Berlin Film Festival, and Paul Thomas Andersonand#39s andldquoInherent Viceandrdquo are set to have their Turkish premieres at next monthand#39s Istanbul Film Festival, the organizers announced this week.Malickand#39s 2015 romantic fantasy drama with a star-studded cast that includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman, and Andersonand#39s screen adaptation of Thomas Pynchonand#39s 2009 novel starring Josh Brolin, Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix, are part of the festivaland#39s Akbank Galas program, which will feature 14 Turkish premieres in total, the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV) said in a press release issued on Wednesday.

Noah Baumbachand#39s andldquoWhile Weand#39re Young,andrdquo a film starring Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts as a middle-aged couple, that premiered at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival andldquoA Most Violent Year,andrdquo a crime drama in which Oscar Isaac portrays a man fighting to protect his business in early 1980sand#39 New York and American actor-director Tommy Lee Jonesand#39s andldquoThe Homesman,andrdquo starring Jones and Meryl Streep, were also among titles unveiled Wednesday.They are joining previously announced Gala section films including Iranian Jafar Panahiand#39s recent Berlin Film Festival champion andldquoTaxi,andrdquo and English director Andrew Haighand#39s andldquo45 Years.

andrdquoThe Istanbul Film Festival will mark its 34th year from April 4-19. The full program of the festival will be announced next Tuesday.
