Russell Crowe presents ‘Water Diviner’ at Istanbul gala Actor Russell Crowe is presenting his debut directorial effort andldquoThe Water Divinerandrdquo today in Istanbul at a gala screening at the Zorlu Center PSM.The evening gala on Friday will be preceded by a special screening in the morning for members of the press at Zorlu, followed by a news conference about the film, which opens in Turkish, Australian and New Zealand theaters on Dec.

26.The historical drama, which had its world premiere earlier this week in Sydney, follows an Australian father who comes to Turkey four years after the end of World War I to search for his three sons who went missing during the Battle of Gallipoli in anakkale.

Crowe stars in the leading role as the father in the Australian-Turkish-US co-production, whose cast also includes Turkish comedian-actor Cem YIlmaz and actor-director YIlmaz ErdoIan and former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko.New Zealand-born Crowe shot the film in numerous locations, including Australia and several locations across Turkey, including Istanbulandrsquos Balat neighborhood and the historic village of Kayaky in the southwestern province of MuIla.
