Pink Martini to do additional Istanbul performanceOrganizers have added a new live performance to the Istanbul concert schedule of the American lounge-pop act Pink Martini after tickets for the group’s July 15 concert sold out weeks before the event.The Madrid-based management company, Pasion Turca, has fixed June 14 as the date of the additional concert.

The act will hit the stage of the Cemil Topuzlu Open-air Theater in Harbiye, the same venue as the July 15 concert in which the group will perform with Spanish diva Buika for the first time.Pink Martini, who are currently on tour in Europe to promote their album “Get Happy,” will be accompanied on stage by The Von Trapps, a group made up of descendants of the Trapp Family Singers.

The Von Trapps collaborated with Rufus Wainwright on a song titled “Kitty Come Home,” found on Pink Martini’s album “Get Happy.” The young musicians collaborated with Pink Martini once again on “Dream a Little Dream,” the group’s eighth studio release.

Pink Martini has already performed three concerts this year in Turkey, one at the Ankara Jazz Festival, another at Istanbul’s II Sanat Cultural Center and again at Izmir’s Kulturpark Open-air TheaterTickets for the July 14 concert can be purchased at www.biletix.
