Morrissey’s Istanbul concert pushed back to Dec. 17English singer Morrisseyand#39s hotly anticipated Istanbul concert on Sunday, Dec.

7, has been postponed until Dec. 17, the Turkish organizers of the event announced Saturday.

The delay is due to logistical problems, concert promoter Pozitif Live explained in a press release issued Saturday, adding that tickets concertgoers hold for the Dec. 7 concert will be valid for Dec.

17, and that those who would like to return their tickets can do so via Biletix. The same logistical problem has also affected Morriseyand#39s Athens appearance, which was to precede his Istanbul concert, Pozitif Live also said Saturday.

Morrissey, whose last performance here was in July 2012 as part of that yearand#39s Istanbul Jazz Festival, will perform at Volkswagen Arena, a Maslak concert venue previously called Black Box Istanbul, as part of his ongoing European tourThe 55-year-old former vocalist of The Smiths is coming to the city around seven months after paying tribute to Istanbul with a song on his latest album, andldquoWorld Peace Is None of Your Business,andrdquo released mid-July. andldquoIstanbul,andrdquo released in May as the second single from the 12-track album, begins with a sample from the Islamic call to prayer and includes numerous elements from the cityand#39s soundscape.

It will be on the set list of the Dec. 17 concert, as well as Morrisseyand#39s previous hits both from his solo career and his time with The Smiths.
