Historical exhibition in Istanbul marks WWI anniversaryThe Istanbul-based Ko Universityandrsquos Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (AnaMed) in BeyoIlu has unveiled a new exhibition to mark the 100th anniversary of the Great WarandldquoPropaganda and War: The Allied Front during World War Iandrdquo displays selected historical objects, artifacts and archival documents dating back to World War I from the private collection of mer M Ko. Posters, postcards and medallions are among items on display at the exhibition, which opened on Wednesday and continues until March 22 at AnaMed.

Curated by Bahattin ztuncay, the show andldquohighlights the ongoing, indivisible historical connection between propaganda and war,andrdquo the center said in a recent press release announcing the exhibition.A comprehensive catalog that features articles by curator ztuncay, historian Edhem Eldem and author-researcher Sinan Kuneralp, both of whom collaborated with the curator in selecting the works and documents for the exhibition, accompanies the show.

AnaMed is open 10 am-6:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday and 12 pm-6:30 pm on Sunday. Admission is free.
