‘Come to My Voice’ wins 2 awards in BelgiumTurkish-German-French co-production andldquoSesime Gelandrdquo (Come to My Voice) has won two awards this month in Belgium, adding to director Huseyin Karabeyandrsquos growing collection of international accolades.andldquoSesime Gelandrdquo won both the Special Jury Prize and the criticsandrsquo prize at the 14th Mediterranean Film Festival in Brussels, which took place from Dec.

5-12.The festival screened over 70 feature-length films, short films and documentaries from 20 Mediterranean countries in various sections.

andldquoSesime Gelandrdquo was among eight films in the festivalandrsquos international competition, which also featured productions from Serbia, Spain, Tunisia, Italy, Algeria, Kosovo and Israel.andldquoSesime Gelandrdquo is the second feature by Karabey, the director behind the critically acclaimed andldquoMy Marlon and Brando.

andrdquo The film, which had its world premiere earlier this year at the Berlin International Film Festival, follows a Kurdish grandmother and her young granddaughter as they search for a non-existent gun in order to free the girlandrsquos father, who is suspected by the authorities to be a guerilla fighterThe film opened in cinemas in Turkey on Dec. 5 in limited release.
