Cinema association to offer TL 500,000 to 100 short filmsThe Istanbul-based International Bosphorus Cinema Association will offer a total of TL 500,000 in grant funding to 100 short films for a project marking the 100th anniversary of Turkish cinemaThe funding will be equally divided among the 100 short films in the categories of animation, documentary and fiction. Films funded during the first stage of the grant will be shown at the second edition of the International Bosphorus Film Festival between Nov.

14 and 28. The films will also be eligible to win a prize of TL 15,000 in one of the festival categories as well as the festival’s Ahmet Uluay Grand Prize, which includes a cash award of TL 50,000.

Supported by the government’s Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) and Istanbul Medya Akademisi (Media Academy), the project aims at contributing to the development of films with esthetic and technical unity.
