Tickets for Itzhak Perlman’s upcoming Istanbul concert still on sale

ISTANBUL (CIHAN)- Tickets for Israeli-American violinist Itzhak Perlman’s second Istanbul concert are still available, with only the lower two categories out of the six completely sold out, as only two weeks remain before the renowned musician’s much anticipated appearance on April 29.

One of the finest classical musicians of the 20th and early 21st centuries, the multiple Grammy-winning virtuoso will thrill Turkish audience at the Istanbul Congress Center on April 29. The 68-year old violinist’s upcoming concert will mark his first Istanbul appearance in eleven months following his sold-out concert on May 28 in which he performed for more than 3,000 classical music lovers.

Perlman, also recognized for his violin solos in Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-winning film “Schindler’s List,” will play his historic Soil Stradivarius, made in 1714 during the golden period of Antonio Stradivari, in the concert. The antique violin was previously played by late classical music legend Yehudi Menuhin.

Also a conductor, Perlman has performed with prominent orchestras of the world, including the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic, the Detroit Symphony and the Chicago Symphony.

A joint effort between Piu Music and event marketing company Map IletiIim with YapI Kredi Bank as its main sponsor, the April 29 concert starts at 9 p.m. Tickets priced at TL 205 and TL 137.50 are currently sold out but tickets in the first four categories are still available, with prices ranging from TL 375 to TL 665.
