State Committee: Information in USCIRF annual report regarding Azerbaijan is tendentious

Baku: The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom has released its annual report regarding international religious freedom, the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic told APA.

Commenting on the report, head of the State Committee’s PR department Amil Javadov said that that information is an effort to cast a shadow over existing tolerance and multicultural environment in Azerbaijan, form a negative opinion about our country: “Azerbaijan is a country having tolerance and multicultural values and all people in this country has equal rights regardless of religious and ethnicity.

Freedom of religious in Azerbaijan is ensured by law and all conditions have been created for people to carry out their worships. Azerbaijan’s tolerance traditions are model for world countries and have unambiguously been accepted by all countries and international organizations”.

The State Committee will disclose detailed position on the report in the coming days.
