SSAC chairwoman: Minimal passing score to be applied for six specialties of first group this year in Azerbaijan

Baku: The Ministry of Education has submitted proposals on the application of minimal score requirement for participation in competitions on some specialties of higher education, State Student Admission Commission (SSAC) Chairwoman Maleyka Abbaszade told APA on May 8.

The proposals have been approved and will be applied in this year’s entrance examinations, said the chairwoman, adding that the new rule will applied on the first group only, adding that from this year onward score requirement for participation in entrance examinations will only be taken into account on six specialties of the first group.

“Detailed information will be given once specialties at higher educations schools and rules of admission to bachelor level are announced,” she noted.

To date, the minimal passing score for each specialty used to be determined based on students’ examination results. But this year’s students will be required to gain the minimal passing score for admission to six specialties of the first group, while the rules for other specialties will remain unchanged.
