Soldier, civil servant kidnapped by PKK released

The outlawed Kurdistan Workersand’ Party (PKK) has released a soldier and a government employee it kidnapped in the predominantly Kurdish province of Mui early on Friday, according to the Mui Governorand’s Office.
In a statement released on its website, the Mui Governorand’s Office said Spc. Corp. Canduneyit T. and Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat) employee Serkan T., who were kidnapped by PKK members on Monday evening, were released around 2 a.m. on Friday.
The two were abducted between the towns of Mescitli and Bostankent.
The statement added that an investigation of the incident being carried out by the Turkish authorities is continuing.
