Several judges punished in Azerbaijan

Baku: The Judicial-Legal Council (CLC) held its first meeting within new composition.

The Council told APA that a number of organizational issues were discussed at the meeting, service certificates were presented to newly-appointed members of the council.

Delivering a speech, Minister of Justice, Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council Fikrat Mammadov spoke about the improvement of the judicial system, transparent selection and training of judges, principal evaluation of their activities, elimination of law violations, procrastination and other negative cases during 10-year operation of the council.

As terms of office of some members of the Judge Selection Committee expired, discussions were held on the candidates nominated by higher courts, prosecutors and bar and other candidates, members were elected from among them to form the Committee.

They considered disciplinary proceedings against judges, and Chairman of Baku City Nizami District Court, Mahammad Akbar, judge of the same court ramil Hasanov, Judge of Ganja Court of Grave Cirmes Mubariz Mammadov were reprimanded for violation of the rules, judge of Baku Administrative-Economic Court No. 1 Intizar Bayramov and judge of Baku City Nizami District Court Elnur Nuriyev were warned, disciplinary proceedings were launched against one judge.
