Russian FM: Transnistrian conflict cannot be settled with ultimatums

Moscow: “The Transnistrian conflict cannot be settled with ultimatums,” said Russian FM Sergei Lavrov, APA’s Moscow correspondent reported.

“The latest developments in Moldova indicate the necessity of taking into account interests of the country’s another part – the Gagauzia region. I state once more that it is wrong to hope the conflict would be settled with ultimatums. But in Moldova there are some officials who hope for that. This is due to the signing of an association agreement between Moldova and the European Union. I hope our European counterparts will finally realize their responsibility for the resolution of the Transnistrian conflict and help the conflicting parties come to common understanding,” said Lavrov.
