Russia co-chair says no disagreement on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Baku: Unanimous opinion of co-chairs is that refugees should return to their native lands, Russian co-chair Igor Popov said during the meeting with representatives of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The diplomat said this issue was discussed at the meeting with the presidents, noting that ensuring security of the Azerbaijanis is one of the subjects of discussions.

“We are ending our visit today. We will finally make a statement covering answers of many questions. We have discussed preparation for the presidents’ meeting. Presidents intend to hold a meeting. I hope that this meeting will take place by the end of the year. We have disagreements on the international issues with the co-chairs from the U.S. and France, but we share the same opinion regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue,” he said.

Popov said the Minsk Group is dealing with the issue of Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilgam Asgarov, who are in prison in Nagorno-Karabakh, but it is very difficult problem.
