Relevant bodies of Turkmenistan, Iran informed about people missing in Azerbaijan offshore platform accident

Baku: The work is underway on extinguishing the fire on the platform #10 at the Guneshli offshore field which broke out on Dec.4.

At the press conference held on Dec.6, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Etibar Mirzayev contacted Adil Abdullayev, the head of the ministry’s Crisis Management Center, to get the latest information about the ongoing fire-fighting work.

According to the information, 2 vessels of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as 3 vessels of SOCAR and BP were involved in extinguishing the fire.

Moreover, one plane and three helicopters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and four helicopters of the State Border Guard Service were involved in searching for the people missing in the offshore platform accident.

The State Marine Administration was tasked to inform all the ships sailing in the Caspian Sea about the missing people.

The relevant bodies of Turkmenistan and Iran were also informed about the missing people.

Divers are still unable to join the search for the missing people due to high waves.
