Queen Elizabeth opens parliament in the House of Lords

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the parliament after the general election which was held on May 7 and read government program.

During her speech, the Queen unveiled the Conservative Party legislation in the annual State Opening of Parliament at the Palace of Westminster on in London. The Conservative Party gained 331 seats in the election and came to power alone.

Queen Elizabeth who arrived at the palace by a horse-drawn cart was accompanied by her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and his spouse Camilla Parker Bowles.
