Protests take place in Turkey against Israeli attacks

ISTANBUL (CIHAN)- Several protests took place in some parts of the country against Israel’s mounting attacks in Gaza.

In Istanbul, a large group of people gathered in front of Israeli Consulate in Levent district. The group shouted slogans and attempted to enter consulate building three times, which was prevented by the police. Police and protesting group clashed for long hours. Some of the protesters broke windows of the building by throwing stones and the police dispersed them with water cannon and tear gas.

In Ankara, a large group of people gathered in front of Israeli Embassy just after Isreal announced that it restarted attacks in Gaza. As in Istanbul, protesters attempted to enter the building by springing over the barricades set up by the police. Police and the protesters had an argument for a while and the protest continues for long hours.
